Guided by Christ, the youth ministry team will collectively:

 

Shepherd the youth to grow closer to God

Welcome youth from all walks of life

Adore God in all that we do

Minister to the youth and challenge them

to minister to others

Current Available Programs

 

High School Students = Grades 9-12

 

Sunday School: Sunday Mornings 10:30– 11:30 am Located in the youth room of Education Building
Teacher – Courtney Zellers

Purpose: Discipleship – Build and strengthen our Christian teens through Bible Education

 

Youth Group/Bible Studies (combined with Middle School): 6:30pm – 8:30pm - Check calendar

Leader – Courtney Zellers

Purpose: Fellowship – For students to know, care for, hold accountable, and encourage one other

Evangelism – Bring friends and introduce them to Christ

FUN!

 


High School Annual Retreat: Weekend in Spring

Previously traveled to Lewes, DE beach house

Leaders – All adult leaders

Helpers – All helpers attend, when available

Purpose: Fellowship – Enjoying good food, fun games, and meaningful lessons, while growing closer to one another in Christ. 
 

 

Middle School Students = Grades 6-8

 

Sunday School: Sunday Mornings 10:30 am to 11:30 pm

Located Last room on Right in Education Building

Teacher –

Purpose: Discipleship – Building personal relationships with Jesus Christ and Strengthen young Christians through Bible education.

Fellowship – Developing Christian friendships

 

Youth Group (combined with High School): 1st & 3rd Sunday Nights 6:30pm – 8:30pm

Located in Youth Room and Gymnasium of Education Building

Leader – 

Helpers – 

Purpose: Fellowship – Helping students to create a bond allowing them to encourage and hold accountable one another.

Evangelism- Sharing Christ’s love with those who don’t yet know Him

Additional opportunities:

Fun Events: Fun events may be combined between all groups or separated by Middle School and Senior High depending on the activity. The middle school and high school leaders will coordinate all fun events.

Mission Trips: Our yearly trip to The Pittsburgh Project is currently open to just Sr. high students. Courtney Zellers is coordinating the trip this year. If you are interested in attending, there are several fundraising opportunities to reduce costs. See Courtney for details.

Jim Stamm - Youth Commission Leader

Jim Stamm was born and raised in the Reading area where he was a member of Wyomissing U.C.C. until the mid 80’s. He graduated from Governor Mifflin High School, Millersville University and Lebanon Valley College with degrees in Elementary Education and Science Education. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1970 until retiring as a Master Sergeant in 2001.

Jim and his wife, Bernie, were married in Easton in 1971. Since moving to the Reinholds area in 1972, Jim has served in various community and church positions. Jim is a past president of Cocalico Area Jaycees, and a former Scoutmaster of Troop 60, Reamstown. 

At Swamp since 1983, Jim has served on consistory for a number of years in a variety of positions. He can often be found helping others in numerous ways. In the past six years, Jim has been instrumental in serving others at the Pittsburgh Project, a nondenominational Urban Ministry for homeowners in the Pittsburgh area. In the Drama Ministry area, Jim has played many characters over the years, ranging from a family butler to P.J. the DeeJay. Jim is currently the Youth Commission director.

Jim and Bernie are the parents of two grown sons, Michael and Matthew. Both boys are married and live out of the area. Michael and his wife, Jennifer, live in Denver, Colorado. Matthew and his wife, Leah, live in Melbourne, Australia.
